IJIN SEASONED SELVEDGE : 10 MONTHLY REPORT

People never believe you when they ask you , & you tell them , just why your jeans look so good, but as we all know there is one rule of thumb:
no gain , no pain.
Ten months of ( almost ) every-day wearing in order to " season " ( this an IJIN terminology ) my IJIN 16" hem selvedges & still they continue to ask me "where I got them from", as if you can buy them off the shelf.

The nice thing about this selvedge fit is that this J5214 leg is cut quite slim which makes for creating fantastic knee " waves".You can actually see that the veining folds really broke the threads & wore through the fabric behind the knee & that the turn-up line is nearly sheared off by abrasion , front & back , from the razor sharp 2 inch creased line. The front half of the leg is about 3 inches longer than the back now & 2 pairs of Cons have blue wear rings around the tops.

Only soak- washed once in a salt & vinegar bath , they were lifted out , not wrung-out ,& hung outside to drip dry under the sun. I'll wear them for a few more months & then take a dip in the sea with them on so the white parts get a good bleaching.

And then I'll take some more shots.....
